Arkay V is a candle maker with an eye for color and ceremony. He hand-pours every candle in small batches, from sculpted rose and peony forms to gold-tinned scents drawn from Indian ritual — saffron and sandalwood, rose and mint, camphor and tulsi. His flower candles and mosaic coasters were the runaway favorite at a recent 50th birthday celebration, where guests took them home as return gifts. He is now building a distinctly Indian-inspired scent collection, Indus Aura, alongside his mosaic work.
